OUR ROOTS
We began our journey in Melbourne, Australia with our first gallery project called Warburton Lane Exhibits and then expanded to another space in the CBD called Gallery One Three where we held art exhibitions, fashion runway shows, music festivals and culinary events as well as workshops and fundraisers. We have now moved to Rabat, Morocco to further expand our journey internationally and show the world what we can do, whilst helping others to reach their full potential in the art, craft, fashion and design industries.
From Warburton Lane Exhibits, we held a number of art exhibitions with contemporary artists such as Ry David Bradley, Joseph Flynn, James Money, Lopo Simoes, Simon Gardam, and many others. We also held runway shows in conjunction with Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and held culinary events.
Our next move was to Gallery One Three, just a laneway away from Warburton Lane Exhibits, where we renovated a two storey space into an art gallery, and events space. We held a number of fantastic exhibitions with some of the same artists as above but with more upcoming artists and designers such as Michael Staniak, The Huxleys, Hamishi, Adnate, Jake Stollery and many more. One of greatest achievements was holding a music festival in conjunction with Melbourne International Music Festival in 2012 called “Invisible Cities 1987” which took over the whole laneway and was attended by thousands of people with numerous DJ acts, Live Art performances, Visual Projections and great drinks. From this we worked together with the City of Melbourne to win funding for them to renovate the laneway into an inner city oasis with palm trees and seating areas. We held runway shows in conjunction with Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival and continued to run numerous events, music festivals, fashion shows, live music performances and art exhibitions.
Portfolio Institute began in a new space again, in Melbourne CBD but this time on Flinder’s Lane where we again, some exhibitions, gallery shows and began to develop the concept of Portfolio Institute with Short Courses and Masterclasses.
We are now launching in Rabat, Morocco and are aiming to share our knowledge and know-how with the rest of the world in our Short Course and Masterclass courses. Be Inspired to Create
